Jakarta, 20 October 2025— PT Multipolar Technology Tbk (MLPT), a member of the Lippo Group and one of Indonesia’s leading publicly listed technology companies (IDX: MLPT), on Sunday (19/10) announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Tsinghua University (People’s Republic of China), Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) (Republic of Indonesia), and MLPT on the establishment of the Joint Global Health Artificial Intelligence Program.
The signing ceremony, held at Lippo AI Tower, Jakarta, marks a significant milestone in Indonesia–China collaboration in artificial intelligence for healthcare, under the leadership and program management of MLPT.
MLPT to Lead and Coordinate the Joint Program
The Joint Global Health AI Program will be managed and coordinated by MLPT, aligning academic research, technological infrastructure, and practical applications across both nations.
The Program brings together:
- Tsinghua University–one of the world’s top universities, representing China’s excellence in AI and life sciences
- Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH)–Indonesia’s pioneering university in AI education and applied data science
- MLPT (Lippo Group)–Indonesia’s technology backbone in cloud services, hybrid data centers, data analytics, cybersecurity, and AI-driven solutions
Together, the three institutions will collaborate on joint research, technology transfer, and talent development to accelerate the use of AI in improving healthcare delivery, disease prevention, and public health systems across Asia.

The Joint Global Health Artificial Intelligence Program will focus on seven key areas of collaboration:
- Joint Research and Development—AI-assisted genomic analysis, vaccine discovery, hospital management optimization, predictive analytics, and precision medicine.
- Training and Capacity Building—Joint programs, workshops, and graduate curricula in AI for healthcare.
- Exchange of Personnel—Researcher and clinician exchanges to promote cross-border innovation.
- Technology Transfer and Commercialization—developing pathways for industrial adoption and local production.
- Regulatory Science and Harmonization—Advancing standards on AI ethics, safety, and governance in health technology.
- Joint Laboratory Initiative—Preparation for a Belt and Road Joint Laboratory on Global Health AI.
- Other Collaborative Activities—Mutually agreed projects in AI for health and life sciences.
Anchored in Strategic Indonesia–China Cooperation
The collaboration builds on the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and Global Maritime Fulcrum (GMF) framework between the Governments of Indonesia and China, reinforcing bilateral cooperation in science, technology, and talent exchange.
